Brixton food news round-up

Start_up poster copyIt’s really not easy to run a business in the market and the good people at Cornercopia in Granville Arcade know that only too well. They have learned a lot along the way, all of which they are sharing in free workshops for women who want to start up afood business. The project is supported by Westminster Enterprise Centre with seminars on becoming self employed, marketing, branding and the financial aspects of running a food business. Seminars are on November 5,12,19 and 26 in Brixton Village market. Email brixtoncornercopia@gmail.com for information.

Several Brixton joints appeared in the press this month, from Time Out’s review of new cocktail bar Shrub & Shutter to the Metro recommending Salon Brixton and Alain Ducasse bigging up Fish, Wings n Tings. We have to say to Shrub & Shutter though – turn your music down!

And Wahaca is about to open in the former Bradys pub on Atlantic Road…but what is that rather garish frontage about?!
