The Jerry Dammers’ Soundsystem Christmas Dance will take place on Saturday December 7 in Brixton to raise money for Evolution Sports and Health Academy.
The main hall of the Effra Social will host the djs Jerry Dammers (The Specials), Will Bankhead and Chief Commander Yabba’s African Drums for a night of ska, reggae, rhythm and blues.
Evolution Sports and Health Academy is a Brixton based community football and sports club assisting children and teenagers pursue positive activities. It is run by a young Brixton coach called Limahl Erb who is trying to keep the kids who can’t pay the fees in the club as generally they’re the ones who benefit most.
The event will start at 8pm and continue until 1am. Tickets are £8 and can be purchased at the door.
