Myatt’s Field Park is gearing up for its third annual family sleepover from August 3rd at 4pm until August 4th at 10am.
The summer sleepover is a free event that is open to all Southwark and Lambeth residents, and will include various activities and workshops, evening entertainment and a complimentary breakfast.
Aleksandra Magdziarek, event organiser, said: “We’re inviting Lambeth and Southwark families to camp out in the park. We get external funding from Lambeth Community Fund, they pay for camping equipment for people on a low income. It’s also to do with employability skills as well, and there’ll be training around the park for about two hours. We will have live music and games and bedtime is at 10pm.
“We will be accepting bookings for the next 2 weeks from 6th July to 17th July 2013.”
There are 200 places available, 100 of which have been reserved for those who are unemployed.
The event has been organised in partnership between Myatt’s Fields Park Project and the Territorial Army, who will provide stewards and overnight patrols. For the provision of camping equipment, please call Aleksandra Magdziarek, the event organiser Mon-Tue on 07598240351.
Hello just wondering if there will be another sleep over event in the park this year (camping) me and my children have taken part in this event before and found it very fun. And would like to experience it all over again. Thank you.
