Refurbishment works have resumed on Brixton Tube’s escalators, causing havoc for early morning commuters today.
Twitter users reported severe overcrowding at the station this morning, as queues crept out of the building and on to the street either side. Twitter user @Dorothee77 said it took 15 minutes just to get into the station.

Alternative travel arrangements? Nightmare more like. There should be an inquiry into WHY a developed nation in the 21st century needs seven months to repair two escalators.
