Lambeth Question Time at Brixton Library

Windrush SquareLambeth council are hosting a day of activities and workshops around Windrush Square on Friday 6 September from 10am-4pm. Representatives of the council, local charities and businesses are taking part.

Senior Lambeth councillors and officers will answer questions from the audience at a “Lambeth Question Time” in Brixton Library from 3 – 4pm.

The panel includes: Bayo Dosunmu, strategic director of resident services, Cllr Jennifer Brathwaite, deputy leader of Lambeth council, Ruth Hutt, director public health and Kristian Aspinall, head of community safety.

Wheels for Wellbeing – bike rides for people with a disability – 12 to 2pm Windrush Square:

Wheels for Wellbeing supports disabled people of all ages and abilities to enjoy the benefits of cycling. From 1pm to 3pm they’re offering taster sessions on their fantastic bikes.

Wheels for Wellbeing helps thousands of people to cycle in London

10am onwards: Stalls from Lambeth Council partners, including:

Better fitness and leisure: Learn how to use a rowing machine or exercise bike and test them out. Get information on leisure promotions and free-giveaways.

Brixton Library: A demonstration of interactive storytelling tool Tovertafel, a playful interactive light game which give a magical experience to storytelling.

Roots and Shoots: Roots and Shoots provides vocational training for young people, with a beautiful community garden and education centre. Meet the team to find out about the training opportunities available.

Lambeth Together: Find out about health and social care with Lambeth Together; meet members of Lambeth’s LGBT+ forum; learn about volunteering with Age UK Lambeth and the British Heart Foundation.

Find out about job opportunities and apprenticeships with bus company Go-Ahead London and Thames Water.
