Surveyors at work in Brixton Market this morning (7 February) are checking it for safety because it is under new management, market security staff told the Blog.
The market has been for sale since last year. The last information available was that Sports Direct, which is about to begin work on a “luxury destination” store on Pope’s Road had dropped out of the bidding.
A check with the Land Registry this morning showed the existing owners, Group Geraud, as still holding the title to the land.
