Brixton Works is about the future of affordable workspace in Brixton. The project aims to boost the availability of cheap workspaces for start-ups.
Brixton Works feasibility team is working with local businesses, residents and other organisations to develop the project. Following open workshops in February, the team are now exploring more detailed options for what Brixton Works could do over the next two years. The next step is a co-design workshop on Wednesday 30 March from 6-9pm at Impact Hub Brixton.
The workshop will discuss the outcomes of the work so far and hear participants thoughts and ideas. It will also explore in detail ideas that have become opportunities over the past months:
1. A CNC factory (CNC uses computers to control machine tools) or a shared kitchen facility for food start-ups at the Loughborough Farm site
2. A music/recording space or storage facility in underused spaces in the Brixton Rec
3. Retail and start-up space in vacant arches
There will also be two open slots for other ideas and options not yet explored. To suggest ideas and questions that you’d like to discuss, email email
You can register for the workshop here. Light refreshments will be served.
