Today marks the beginning of a the Chinese new year, the most important of the traditional Chinese holidays.
The new lunar year is celebrated across the world with festivals, fireworks and food and celebrations can last up to fifteen days.
This year’s symbol is either the Goat, Sheep or Ram. In Mandarin it is the year of the “yang” – or “horned animal” – which could mean any of the three.
If you’re looking for a way to celebrate why not head to the Chinese supermarket Wing Tai on Electric Avenue and create yourself a Chinese feast.
