A basketball programme founded by Miami Heat forward and Brixtonite Luol Deng was launched at Evelyn Grace school yesterday.
A basketball session led by three-time NBA champ Bruce Bowen kicked off the DENG Academy, which aims to produce elite basketball players to feed into the Brixton  Topcats basketball club and give sporting opportunities to young players in the area.
The Miami heat forward Luol Deng was trained as a teenager by the legendary Jimmy Rogers, who founded and runs the Brixton Topcats. Read this lovely Guardian interview with Deng from 2009.Â
