Pub lunch or homemade from Brixton Market ingredients?

    1. Mango Landin

Live jazz and absolutely delicious food, with free-range meat for the Sunday roasts. When the sun is shining, it’s worth grabbing a table outside and prolonging the afternoon with mojitos.

Mango Landin, 40 St Matthew’s Rd

    2. Queens Head

We constantly receive Twitter tips pointing us towards the Queens Head for their all-day Sunday roasts. And there’s even a veggie Nut Roast option too.

    Queens Head, 144 Stockwell Rd

    3. Trinity Arms

Now under new management, this is one of our favourite Brixton pubs. Cosy, straightforward and good, reliable pub grub.

    Trinity Arms, 45 Trinity Gardens

    4. Electric Social

New pub/bar Electric Social has been impressing local Sunday roasters. We’re not so sure about the over-conceptualised decor, but the food is generous and tasty.

    5. Home cooked

Get up early on Sunday morning to buy your parsnips, potatoes and yams to roast from Brixton Market and then head to Brixton Farmers’ market for some top-notch meat. Nothing better than a home-cooked roast dinner?

Alternative Sunday pub lunch suggestion: If you don’t fancy the classic British Sunday roast, head to the Effra for jerk chicken, pork or fish

    Effra, 38 Kellett Rd
