Such has been the success of the weekly Comedy Incorporated night at Herne Hill’s Off The Cuff venue that, from September, it will have two performances a week – on Tuesdays as well its current Wednesdays.
There is no ticket charge, just a donations hat at the end to ensure support for the independent venue and upcoming comics.
Acts change for each night. Wednesday shows – like tonight’s (21 August) run from 7.30 to 9:45/10pm with a break half way through.
Performers are not allowed to pick on the audience, and all “-ism” (racism, sexism etc …) jokes are banned to produce a great vibe and inclusive atmosphere, says Steve Mayne, who runs Comedy Incorporated.
“After the Wednesday show we record a podcast, which is a lot of fun for the audience who stay to watch as they can heckle a little and it’s a bit more loose then the main show,” he says.
