Brixton Advice Centre has launched a free online legal clinic.
Members of the public can fill out an online form with their legal enquiry which will then be dealt with by the centre’s volunteer solicitors and barristers who will ring, email or Skype the client.
“We have always run a pro bono clinic, so this is our way of making sure we can still provide it as a service despite the lockdown but now on a bigger scale,” said the centre’s chief executive Patrick Torsney.
“The most frequent enquiries we are getting are around family and separation, and employment, but we can deal with pretty much anything.”
The service has started with six solicitors providing advice and will expand as it gets more demand.
