Tuesday August 25: Bigger Boat: Film Quiz, Upstairs at the Ritzy. Bringing you (Inter)stellar questions from the world of film, its been hailed as one of London’s best film Quiz Show since its Inception. Everyone is welcome, teams can be any size. Doors 6 pm, quiz starts 7.30 pm. £5 per person.
Norwood Food Bank is making an urgent appeal for unwanted school uniforms. They are looking for basic colours blue, black and grey trousers and skirts, plus jumpers, cardigans, basic shirts and T-shirts. If possible drop donations into St Luke’s, SE27, at 10am.
Saturday August 29: Brixton Soup Kitchen is launching its community garden, donated by Citi Bank UK, at the charity’s HQ, 297 – 299 Coldharbour Lane, Brixton. The event was scheduled to take place last week but was cancelled due to adverse weather – fingers crossed for sunshine this weekend!
“Boom with the lamb: fundraising BBQ” will have food and drink on sale and all proceeds will go towards the Soup Kitchen. They are currently raising money for a van, which will aid the day-to-day operational needs of its outreach service.
