Brixton MP Kate Hoey fined for running a red light

kate_hoey_250The MP for Vauxhall, Kate Hoey, has been fined £240 for running a red light in her Rover Mini.

Hoey, whose Vauxhall consitituency includes part of northern Brixton, pleaded guilty to the incident, which happened on the Embankment near to Victoria last July, according to Court News UK.

Website bikebiz.com reminded readers that Kate Hoey has previously criticised “lycra-lout” cyclists for running red lights, saying they should be fined up to £2,500 for running a red signal.

  1. The Court News link states that our MP was stopped by the Police. Perhaps they could also target the many vehicles that run the red lights going down Tulse Hill towards Brixton. Oh and it is nice to now that our MP drives a mini and a Rover (British) model.
