Brixton Hill  was closed southbound by St Matthews Church this afternoon following a collision, reportedly between a bus and a cyclist.

Police were redirecting traffic via Effra Road, with buses and cars backing up along Brixton Road as rush hour continued. A short while ago there were three ambulances and a number of police vehicles at the scene of the crash, at the junction of Brixton Hill and St Matthews Road.

Witnesses  reported a collision between a bus and a cyclist shortly after 4pm.

Transport for London say the road has been reopened in the last few minutes, Tweeting: “All routes on Brixton Hill, SW2 are now running normally following an earlier road traffic collision.”
