Thirty eager runners join Brixton Blog running club

A blurry phone picture of some of the Brixton runners after the run (sorry to those who were cut out of the shot!)

More than 30 keen Brixtonites turned out tonight for Brixton Blog’s first running club of 2013.

The runners, of all ranges of fitness, set out from the Tate Library, Windrush Square, as the Town Hall clock chimed 7pm.

Led by the Blog’s Charley Harrison, a 5km(ish) route took them up Effra Road, along Water Lane and then round a closed Brockwell Park, before a gentle jog back to Windrush Square for the team photo.

We’ll be heading out again next Monday at 7pm, and the plan is to have three different groups, depending on pace.

The long-term ambition of the group is to develop a fun, social Brixton running club for people of all fitness levels, two evenings per week. Followed by a post-jog pint in the Effra.

If you would be interested in leading one of the groups on a run from 5 to 7.5km next week, or any time, email us at info@brixtonblog.com.
