A man has been taken to hospital after being attacked with a wooden baton outside Superdrug, Brixton Road.
The 25-year-old victim is said to be conscious following the assault at 3.15pm today, and part of Brixton Road remains sealed off by police.
People at the scene reported screaming at shouting, and blood and clothing were still visible on the street a short time ago.
A police spokesperson said: “The suspect was seen making off down Atlantic Road.
“No arrests have been made as yet. An investigation is ongoing.”
