Poor weather couldn’t dampen the spirits as more than 500 people attended the Modern Movement Festival, an art deco design fair at Brockwell Lido this weekend.
The brave and foolhardy got a chance to swim for free while others browsed art from students at Camberwell Art College and a range of 20th centre furniture and objets d’art.
Other activities included canoeing and massages were also on offer and the Lido café served up a BBQ.
On Saturday, 10 hardy souls took part in the annual Big Jump, where swimmers young and old simultaneously plunge into the water to celebrate the beginning of the open-air swimming season. Lambeth mayor Clive Bennett was on hand to oversee the proceedings.
Clare Motton, General Manager of the Lido said: “Despite the weather the weekend was a great success with over 500 visitors, it was also great to see the Big Jump take place to officially open the Lido for the season.”
