Lambeth council will decide tonight on a development of 69 students rooms, office space and shops in between Herne Hill Road and Milkwood Road, Herne Hill.
The plans, on the site of the former BP petrol station, will also see a public walkway created between Herne Hill and Milkwood Road. It will vary in height from five-storeys on the east side to three on the west.
Lambeth planning officers have recommended that a committee meeting at the Town Hall, Brixton, tonight, approves the plans.
According to council report the Herne Hill Society supports the plan, and there were three objections and five letters of support from residents following a consultation.
In 2009 an application of shops and 32 flats on the site was turned down.
