Brixton Blog have been asking for their favourite London views recently. I immediately knew mine. Better even than sitting on the top of the 333 down Brixton Hill where the Shard and the Gherkin are visible before you. Better even than a misty morning run in the park. Because this view is the watercolour style painting in the back room of Lisboa Grill.
Formerly named The Gallery, Lisboa Grill is a takeaway, cafe and little-known restaurant on Brixton Hill. It used to be that you rang a bell at the back of the takeaway to be let into the restaurant. In these days of secret restaurants and pop-up diners, maybe they should bring this back just to be ‘on trend’.
On trend is not something that Lisboa Grill concerns itself with, instead delivering authentic Portuguese food and drink in a room with a sound system that suggests that on certain nights the venue can kick off like Lisbon’s own party district Bairro Alto.
Lisboa Grill offers an extensive menu of authentic peri peri chicken, seafood and wonderful steaks. We had the Lisboa Steak, a juicy slab of meat with chips, rice, salad, spicy sauce and a fried egg on top. For when a delicate meal just won’t do.

Such good food, so friendly too. Have been like a second family since we moved in nearby.
I agree with Tim, it is the one of the best places!

This is one of the best places for “entrecosto” pork ribs – marinated with rock salt, lemon and garlic. Delicious.
