Now in its 17th year, The Dogstar is stylishly shabby. While the loo seat may send you sideways on broken hinges, the overall interior is endearingly dog-eared.

Early evenings draw a local crowd to kick back while the ambience is still relaxed. Latecomers migrate to the venue to drink beers and get booted.

There’s a basic range of quaffable bevs. Choose from a couple of cask ales, lagers and your usual spirits selection.
The Grub
Posh pizzas vary in price from £5-8. Neither size nor quality is compromised by the cost.

A cheap night is easily achieved if you stick to pints, which linger around the £3 mark, and house spirits.
An Interesting Fact
London’s ‘first DJ bar’ has survived for nearly two decades. As part of the ever-expanding Antic collective, its legacy is deservedly lairy.
The Highlights
A purveyor of party vibes, The Dogstar brings a familiar razzle-dazzle to Coldharbour Lane. You’d struggle to find a soul who hasn’t spent at least one Saturday bent over the bar, screaming for jägerbombs above 90s club classics.
What’s a bit rubbish?
Weekends are typified by youngsters out on the razz. The only thing disappointing is that you’re probably getting a bit too old for it.
What else they got in the bag?
The Dogstar is a real crowd pleaser. Expect little and you’ll get a whole lot. Comedy nights through to Audio Sushi.
To sum it up…
A party pal from times gone by, The Dogstar dominates the disco like Bez from Happy Mondays.
