A Brixton-based youth engagement agency has been awarded the Prime Minister’s ‘Big Society’ Award for its outstanding work improving the lives of young people.
Livity, found in Piano House, Brighton Terrace, scooped the award for their scheme “somewhereto_” which finds spaces for young people to carry out creative projects.
The agency also publishes Live Magazine, written and edited by young people. It is read by 15% of youngsters aged 16 to 24-years-old.
The Prime Minister David Cameron said: “My warmest congratulations to all the dedicated Livity employees and all the young people who have got involved in their inspirational campaigns and projects.”
A film the group shot in Downing Street also won a DADI industry award for best use of video.
