Police are are appealing for information and witnesses after a man was punched in the head in an unprovoked attack near the Ritzy in Brixton on Saturday night (24 September) at about 11.30.
They say the 45-year-old victim was walking along Brixton Road when he was punched in the forehead by a stranger, resulting in a cut to the head.
He was tended to by members of the public and the London Ambulance Service was called. He was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries and later discharged.
After the attack the suspect left in an unknown direction. He is described as a black man, about 5ft 5ins tall, of a stocky build with a shaved head.
No arrests have been made and enquiries continue.
DC Anne-Marie Long of Lambeth CID said: “There were a number of people in the area at the time of the attack. I would appeal to any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.”
