Brockwell Lido swimming pool will be closed today (Sunday) due to ‘staff illness’.
About a dozen winter swimmers looked disgruntled outside the Herne Hill pool and gym this morning at 9am, although it is not clear whether the it is just the outdoor pool or the entire building that will be closed all day.
Brockwell Lido users group tweeted this morning: “just received from Fusion: ‘due to staff illness, the lido will not be open today.'”
Brockwell Lido is run by Fusion Lifestyle.
What do you make of the last minute closure? Unfortunate illness or poor management? Email us or leave your comments below.
See I’ve heard the opposite – that it is Brockwell that is supporting their other facilities. I was told that Brockwell Lido Users have asked for a break-down on this but nothing forthcoming from Fusion.
Yes indeed. I just bought a frozen chicken from Iceland and they are open 7 days a week.. Fusion really need to sort this out. .
staffing levels at the Lido are very low. Word on the street is that the Lido isn’t making the same level of profit as other centres run by Fusion, so are cutting resource accordingly.
Service has gone down dramatically over the last few years.
I’m not the only one who has started swimming a the Lido this Winter. Together with the restricted opening times, this is not very encouraging. Perhaps Fusion should remember that without the swimmers there would never have been a lido.
