Tara Wilson-Brown became the fifth winner of the annual Brix painting competition.
The event, held at the Brix, St Matthews Church, Brixton Hill, runs in partnership with Lambeth College to encourage artistic performance by the college’s adult learning art students, and to allow the Brix to attain pieces by art students aged 18 +, studying at a local college .
Tara said “I’ve tried to capture the flow of the music”. Tara wins a prize of £250 for her work and gets to put her painting on permanent public display.
Tara was one of 42 applicants for the award. The painting in pink, purple, teal, green and yellow expresses this year’s theme of “Music and Colour”, in oil on canvas.
Local people can see the competition entries in The Brix’s community hall.
