Lambeth councillors are to consider an alcohol license application for a new Sainsbury’s supermarket on the site of Carpetright, on the corner of Tulse Hill and Brixton Water Lane.
A meeting of the licensing sub-committee at Lambeth Town Hall, Brixton, at 7pm tonight will discuss the bid to sell alcohol from 6am until midnight, seven days per week.
Lambeth has received 148 objections from local residents, and police have recommended a range of conditions if the licence is granted, including a ban on the sale of beer or cider stronger than six per cent.
The meeting is open to the public, and objectors are expecting to make representations. See a summary of the application here.
