Through the Lens in Photofusion

If you have a few minutes to spare in the centre of Brixton, you could very enjoyably spend them in Photofusion’s Through the Lens – an exhibition of photographic works by Lambeth residents who have been though one of their courses in photography.

Photofusion and 198 Contemporary Arts & Learning have been delivering these courses in photography for adults in Lambeth since 2019.

This exhibition showcases the work of 13 participants in the programme. It’s not large show, but there is a wide range of subjects and techniques on offer. It’s very much a celebration of colour with a number exuberant images, but more reflective works in black and white also feature. You will see abstracts, landscapes and portraits, distant views and close-up detail. Serious statements sit alongside more light hearted pieces. There’s wit, mystery, coolness, joy and wonder in these works.

Go and see them if you can.

Through the Lens runs until 31 December in Photofusion, 6 Canterbury Crescent, SW9 7QD. Access is via the entrance to the Brixton Recreation Centre. For further information visit www.photofusion.org
