So Sings My Soul, Claire Brennan’s new show in the Tate Library, is in two parts. Partly it is a celebration of colour, glitter and ballerinas using traditional media, and partly a celebration of recycled materials to create three dimensional artworks. All the works however are both joyful and reflective. The ballerina works have something of a fairy tale quality, both visually and as comments on the human condition. The three dimensional works are equally positive and optimistic, but in a very different way.
The show runs until 14 August in the Tate Library, Brixton Oval, SW2 1JQ. Entry is free and the show is open every day.
