An illustrated map of Brixton Village, covering Market Row and Granville Arcade, has been created.
The map also highlights other famous Brixton landmarks, including the O2 Academy and Ritzy cinema.
It is a great way to discover something new from the wide range of places to eat, drink and shop in the Village, and will also make it easy to navigate for first-timers.
This new guide, the first phase of a “markets wayfinding strategy”, features recently arrived Oowee Vegan, who are offering Deliveroo and takeaway Tuesday–Sunday in lockdown, and Stems Wilder, whose flowers are available via click and collect.
Maps will be appearing around the markets in the spring.
Diana Nabagereka, general manager of Brixton Village, said: “After a year that has brought so many challenges for the Brixton Village traders, the introduction of an effective wayfinding solution will no doubt prove to be a much welcomed tool for visitors and traders alike.
“It allows for improved visibility of our wide range of independent businesses on offer, as well as a clearer layout of our customer facilities such as ATMs, and free public toilets.
“Collectively, we hope to assist in making for a more enjoyable experience once here.
“We look forward to safely welcoming more of the public back when restrictions hopefully begin to be lifted.”
Better signposting for the whole of Brixton is a longstanding demand of many local traders.
Hondo Enterprises, which runs the markets on a day-to-day basis, brands both Market Row and the Granville Arcade as “Brixton Village”.
Brixton Village is open from 8am to 11.30pm, apart from Mondays, when it closes at 6pm.
