Medya Gungor scans Brixton’s socially distanced scene
The summer of 2020 may not have been the one we anticipated in terms of live music and events, but Brixton’s popular venues are working hard to make their return to business as safe as possible.
Brixton Courtyard (Brixton Jamm’s renovated outdoor space) and the Prince of Wales have already begun paving the way for this socially distanced comeback with a range of events over the next few months that will require advanced online bookings to secure a booth space.
While we wait in anticipation for further news regarding the reopening of nightclubs and the go-aheads for live music events, here is a round-up of the shindigs taking place over the next week. For now it’s courtyards and rooftops …
Saturday 15 August
Percolate Presents Optimo @ Brixton Courtyard 7 to 11pm
Glasgow legends JD Twitch & Jonnie Wilkes AKA Optimo (Espacio) host the Courtyard bringing their unique sound along with an encyclopaedic knowledge of records. Buy tickets here.
Supa Dupa Fly x Rooftop Brunch @ Prince of Wales 12pm-11.30pm
“Spaced Out” brunch and suppers series will run on the rooftop of POW with a soundtrack supplied by residents and special guests from the likes of Up On The Roof, Shabba, Brixton Disco Festival, Supa Dupa Fly and ByDayByNight. Buy tickets here.
