Brixton amateur boxer Vivien Parsons, 15, from the Afewee club was scouted by England coaches during her impressive performances at the recent England Boxing junior national championships in Rotherham.

She becomes the second Afewee boxer to be invited onto the England talent programme in the four seasons they have been running.

Afewee head coach Bobby MilitiadousEveryone at the club are super proud and this is definitely well deserved, said head coach Bobby Miltiadous (pictured right). “Vivien is one of our most dedicated young boxers and this comes after months of hard work and preparation.

“Her consistency, work ethic and willingness to listen are an example to the rest of the club and community that, as long as you are prepared to stick to something and put the effort in, you will reap the rewards.”

Afewee boxing club caters for all ages starting from five years and above. You can find the club in the Brixton Recreation Centre on level 1.
