    Tuesday 12 April : This comedy night at Brixton East is raising money for the refugee camp in Calais with performances from comedians Jeremy Hardy, Josie Long, Andy Zaltzman, Kate Lucas and Johnny Cochrane. Plus live music from The Brixton 49ers and DJ Prince Jimmy and a cheap bar. £10 / £8 concessions. 7pm – 11.59pm.

    Wednesday 13: Swing the night away or just sit back and listen to the big bang classics at Blues Kitchen performed live by Old Hat Jazz Band and the Basin Street Brawlers. Free. Until 12am.

    Thursday 14: Dulwich Picture Gallery curator Xavier Bray and contemporary artist, Mark Wallinger explore the relationship between Wallinger’s artworks and Old Master Van Dyck’s last self-portrait. This event takes place alongside a special viewing of the artist’s work. £12, £10 friends. 7.30 – 8.30pm.

    Friday 15: Livity Sound is back at Phonox for another explosive face off, and this time joining them for the ride will be New York lo-fi house producer Anthony Naples. Expect a night of dub, techno, jungle and electro. £5 adv, £10 on the door. 6pm to 4am.

    Saturday 16: Brixton has been home to a vinyl resurgence in the last few years. With 3 new record stores opening their doors in the area, it is fast becoming the go-to destination for London’s record hunters. Pop Brixton is home to Container Records, so is teaming up with a number of other independent labels, record stores and artists to transform the site into a music lovers’ paradise for Record Store Day. With a daytime record market featuring some of London’s freshest labels, and a stellar vinyl-only line up of DJ talent transforming the site into late night party, all with free entry.

    Sunday 17:  Relax and enjoy your Sunday afternoon Upstairs at the Ritzy at Cool Struttin’: Blue Note, Bebop and hard-swinging Jazz provided by some of South London’s best young and old musicians. Hosted by Christian Miller with different special guests, and musician’s jam session. Third Sunday of every month. Free. From 2pm.
