The SOAS Detainee Support Group (SDS) is holding a fundraising gig at the Brixton Jamm on Friday 5th June to raise money to help immigrants imprisoned in detention centres. SDS provides practical casework assistance to people in immigration detention, and campaigns for the abolition of detention centres.
The line-up is eclectic – punters can look forward to an urban folk harpist, a Congolese band, and an afrobeat DJ collective. Kinshasa-born guitarist Mulele Matondo Afrika (pictured above) is headlining.
The event kicks off at 9pm and tickets are available here. Head to the Facebook Event and click ‘Join’ to receive updates and info.
