Last night, Gogglebox stars and Brixton residents Sandra and Sandy picked up the show’s award for Best Factual Programme at the National Television Awards.

The boisterous pair are locals and favourites on the Channel 4 show thanks to their their amusing and outlandish television commentary.

Sandy Channer, 48, and Sandra Martin (known as Queen B), 52, arrived on stage to collect the award on behalf of Gogglebox.

Sandra said: “Where’s the sofa? Thank you very much everyone for voting for us. It’s a liberty, man, a proper liberty.” Sandy added: “I just want to say thank you to the fans. This is for you guys – if you wasn’t watching, we wouldn’t be up here.”

After the friends left the stage, host Dermot O’Leary asked: “Can Gogglebox win every award?”
