Say hola to Argentina’s hottest new films, and bienvenida to the Argentine Film Festival, at Brixton’s Ritzy cinema.

The Ritzy will host the third installment of the Festival next week, sharing the programme of feature films and documentaries with Hackney Picturehouse.

The Festival programme, opening on Thursday November 27 at the Ritzy, this year includes several films that have seen international acclaim – Matias Lucchesi’s Natural Sciences won Berlin’s Generation Kplus Grand Prix and top prizes at the Guadalajara Film Festival; and Hernan Rosselli’s Mauro , recently presented at Rome and Vienna; both of which will see their UK premieres at the Festival.

Fancy watching some urban tango with a glass of Argentina’s finest? Then head to the Hackney Picturehouse evening screenings (opening on Friday November 28) for a dance performance, and a try of specially selected varieties Malbec, Pinot Grigio, or Bonarda, chosen by wine-makers Argento. The curated wines will also be available during screenings at the Ritzy.

Up for grabs are 2 pairs of tickets to a double-bill at the Ritzy on opening night, Friday November 28, to see:

– Living Stars – An all-ages dance party through the kitchens, gardens and living rooms of Buenos Aires. Dozens of real people, identified simply by name and occupation, do his or her thing for the duration of a single dance track. Directors Mariano Cohn and Gaston Duprat deliver a truly uplifting cinematic experience and one that demands to be seen with a crowd.

– Death in Buenos Aires – A high-voltage erotic thriller set in 1980s Buenos Aires. Detective Chávez, a family man and tough cop, must solve a mysterious homicide. Agent Gómez, a good-looking rookie (played by Ricardo Darin´s son, Chino), becomes Chávez’s right-hand man. But in order to find the identity of the murderer, Chávez must first plumb his own heart.
