How many times can you say you’ve been to an audio visual night? Ok, yes…a lot of nights you may have been to you will have seen stuff and heard stuff, but for this audio/visual experience Electric Social are going to show you something different…
On Friday April 18th Electric Social are putting on a show. It’s VCR’s 1st birthday and it’s set to be a good one.
What is VCR?
VCR has been going for a year and what it offers is unique to Brixton. Think banging tunes with a retro feel. Retro because when you walk in you will be made aware of television sets with old school video players playing…you guessed it; videos.
It started as a vision conjured up by local DJ’s BRXTNFNK aka Mark Stangroom and Tom Central aka Tom Miller. Their vision was different. They wanted to combine beats and videos in a single night for a single, unique experience.
Why? To create an eye-popping experience. One that Brixton had yet to discover. One year on and VCR’s birthday confirms it’s success.
On April 18th both floors of Electric Social are featuring a spectrum of London DJ’s. So what can we expect? Well with Robin Hexstatic headlining don’t go in with low expectations. Hexstatic mixes funk with electro and will be performing his classic video acid house which went down a storm at this year’s Solid Steel 25th Anniversary party.
Adding to the mix Mr Beatnik (Solid Steel), Josey Rebelle (Rinse FM) and more; this night looks set to be a banger. Brixton Blog will be there with bells on.

I’m not sure exactly why but this website is
loading very slow for me. Is anyone else having this problem or is
it a problem on my end? I’ll check back later and see if the problem still exists.
