Take Two: British New Wave cinema night @ Minet Library
Minet Library film club is featuring The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner tonight in its current season of British New Wave film. Based on a short story by Alan Sillitoe, this movie turns on the life of the young Colin Smith, sent to a borstal after robbing a bakery. As a long-distance runner, he gains a privileged position in the prison hierarchy.
