A moped rider was left injured after his scooter collided with a car on Effra Road, Brixton.
The incident, at 5.10pm yesterday (Tuesday) near the junction with Trelawn Road, left Effra Road closed to traffic for two and a half hours as fire crews cleared spilled oil from the road.
The 40-year-old driver of the Piaggio Scooter was taken by ambulance to a south London hospital with “non-life threatening” injuries and was later released, while the driver of the SubaruLegacy escaped unhurt.
One bystander, Tony Edgar, said: “[there] was a moped all alone in the middle of the road when I passed, with broken bits of plastic round it.”
The road reopened at 7.45pm and nobody was arrested in connection with the event.
