Windrush Sq is being used for good things this week – it’s the Lambeth School’s Musitrax Festival organised by the Lambeth Music Service, our very own ‘El Systema’. From 1pm today, 150 Year 4 schoolchildren will perform in a big band, there’ll be djembe workshops for families, and on Friday Levi Roots – of Reggae Reggae Sauce fame – will lead a string band in concert.
Here’s the timetable. Enjoy.
Thursday 1st July:
1pm – MX Band in concert. The band features 150 Year 4 children from Lambeth schools playing trumpet, trombone, clarinet, flute, sax and percussion
2-4pm – Family djembe workshops
Friday 2nd July:
1pm – MX String Band & Levi Roots in concert. The band features 200 Year 4 children from Lambeth schools playing violin and cello; plus Levi Roots performing his new single accompanied by the children
2-4pm – Family djembe workshops
