Culture vultures, here’s another one for you. Three local writers will be giving live readings of their work at The Breadroom, the small bakery in Market Row, this Saturday 16th March.

Courttia Newland, who we interviewed last year, reads from his latest novel ‘The Gospel According to Cane’, just out with Telegram Books. Courttia has just returned from a US book tour to promote the book. For more info about the book, check out this glowing review by the Guardian.

Leila Segal reads from ‘Breathe’, her Cuban short story collection, published by Flipped Eye. More about Leila on her website: www.leilasegal.com

Jacqueline Crooks reads from her short story collection, ‘The Ice Migration’, fusing patois with standard English.

The event kicks off at 7.30pm and entry is free. Culture, punch and baked goods; what more could you want on a Saturday night? Join the event on Facebook: www.facebook.com/events/591712824191988/
