Brixton Splash have launched a brand new crowd funding page via Buzz Bank to help fund it’s 10th annual Brixton party.

The risky strategy means if they do not receive £20,000 they will not receive a penny of the money pledged to support the festival.

Significant funding cuts as well as rising costs mean that community-led free street festival is facing an uncertain future after eight successful and safe years! Festival organisers have been seeking alternative funding to ensure that the much loved community event, can go ahead as planned on August 3.

“Losing vital Local Government funding was a devastating lose which came at a time when the event had just moved to secure its future by expanding the board from the previously under-resourced five people.”

She added: The festival is the epitome of cool and is well loved by the Caribbean diaspora that call Brixton or South London home as well as hipsters and music fans. It is one day in the summer where all of London’s communities can come together in peace over good music and great food!”

Anyone can support the event from just £1 right up to £5000 and the board are asking for any small local businesses who have benefited from increased business during Brixton Splash to please make a pledge.
