Bobby Mills, head coach at Brixton’s Afewee boxing gym, is the first guest for a new community-led podcast designed to amplify the voice of grassroots organisations and highlight the incredible work they do.
The PieceMAKERS podcast is due to launch tomorrow (20 November) when Bobby sits down with Max & Chan to discuss his experiences and the transformative impact of grassroots sports.
It is part of the Make It Stop campaign to tackle knife crime that was launched in Brixton earlier this year.
The monthly series will feature inspiring conversations with community figures who are making a real difference.
Each guest will share their journey, insights, and approach to engaging young people while creating meaningful change.
The podcast will share valuable perspectives on how to empower and inspire our youth.
PieceMAKERs will be available on all streaming platforms along with an accompanying launch film produced by Make it Stop.
Make It Stop is a powerful campaign focused solely on tackling knife crime and reducing youth violence and is driven by an impassioned coalition including Pastor Lorraine Jones who has dedicated her life to the issue following the death of her son Dwayne in 2014 as a result of knife crime in Brixton.
Make It Stop says it shines a spotlight on the heartbreaking impact of knife crime while working to inspire young people to choose peace over violence.
