Transport police have issued a CCTV image in the hunt for a man who headbutted a woman on a train in Brixton.
The 40-year-old woman was left with facial injuries and shock after the attack, yesterday at 9am on a train from Beckenham to Victoria.
Her attacker, a black man with a goatee beard who was carrying a work bench, ran away after the train pulled into Brixton.
A spokesman for the British Transport Police said: “Officers were alerted and swiftly attended the scene to carry out a search, but the man had made off.
“Medics from London Ambulance Service treated the victim on the station platform before she was later taken home.
“Officers will be conducting local enquiries into the assault, including viewing CCTV from the train and station and speaking to witnesses of the attack.”
