Brixton’s Mosaic Clubhouse and the Lambeth Living Well Network Alliance are finalists in the Health Service Journal (HSJ) 2022 Partnership Awards.
The awards put a spotlight on successful collaborations between the NHS and public, private and “third sector” organisations that improve and save lives.
The clubhouse and alliance are entered in the Best Mental Health Partnership with the NHS category.
Despite the demanding circumstances of recent years, nearly 200 entries received for this year’s awards, with 123 projects reaching the final shortlist.
The judging panel is a diverse range of highly influential and respected figures in the healthcare community.
The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on 24 March.
Mosaic Clubhouse and the Lambeth Living Well Network Alliance were selected based on their ambition, visionary spirit and the demonstrable positive impact that their work has had on patient and staff experiences within the health and social care sector.
Mosaic Clubhouse, based on Effra Road, is a thriving L charity that provides opportunities for people experiencing mental health issues to regain the confidence and skills necessary to lead productive and satisfying lives.
The Living Well Network Alliance is the first fully integrated mental health service in the country.
Since 2018, health, social care and independent sector colleagues have formally joined together, replacing numerous old community mental health teams, to provide a more patient-centred service with a single point of access.
Working hand in hand with valued partners such as Mosaic Clubhouse is crucial to supporting people to live well in their communities, they say.
Mosaic has a long history of working together, side-by-side and face-to-face, said a spokesperson.
“So the first national lockdown, which forced Mosaic Clubhouse to close its doors for the first time in its 25- year history, presented real challenges.
“Many Clubhouse members rely on its community for practical and emotional support, as well as for a place in which to engage in meaningful activities.
“However, over many years Mosaic’s members have built a resilient community and a strong commitment to mutual support.
“Mosaic managed to adapt its offer and to find a new way to sustain its community away from the Clubhouse.”
Chris Thomas, Clubhouse chief executive, said the shortlisting “recognises the collaborative efforts and dedication of our staff and our members over the last 18 months to successfully work together to ensure our services stayed open during the Covid 19 pandemic.
“Without the support of our statutory partner, the Lambeth Living Well Network Alliance, none of this would be possible.
“We are committed to delivering improved outcomes for our members, and to be chosen among the other incredible nominees is a wonderful achievement.
“This nomination has been a tremendous boost to staff and all our members at Mosaic Clubhouse and I am sure it will bolster our continued efforts to improve our services.”
