The body of a man found dead in his Brixton home this morning could have been lying there for “months”.
Tenants representative Rosemary Nja Egbe told a housing forum meeting the man, in his seventies, could have died more than two months ago in his flat on the Lilford Road Estate, Brixton.
She said police had been called by a concerned neighbour and found the man in his bedroom with the door closed. They had told her he had been there for a significant time.
She said: “It is so sad. He has come to our residents meetings a few times.”
Area housing manager for Lambeth Living, Chris Adamson told the meeting it was important for all residents associations to look out for elderly neighbours in the cold weather.
The Brixton Blog is awaiting confirmation and more details from Lambeth Police.
