Dot, the beloved dog of Herne Hill florist Elaine White, is still missing after three weeks.
Dot was last seen on Wednesday January 29 at Herne Hill station. It was initially thought that Dot may have boarded a train to Bedford, but CCTV released by First Capital Connect showed that she didn’t get on any carriages.
The CCTV was checked only after 148 people signed an online petition for the footage to be released.
A Facebook campaign, ‘Lets Find Dot’, managed by Ms White’s daughter and her friend Melanie Byrne, is ongoing.
Ms White has put up new posters in the area and is offering a cash reward for Dot. She told the Blog: “Hopefully by offering cash, someone might think twice about bringing her back. She must be out there, with somebody. They would have found her by now if she’d been killed on the tracks.”
Ms White has officially reported Dot as stolen to the British Transport Police.
As it is half term, Ms White has been receiving inquiries from local school children, who are used to seeing Dot in the area: “They normally all come and play with her with her ball. I had three kids just today asking after her. I’ve been telling the kids that Dot’s gone on an adventure.
“It’s been harder for me this week. It’s just awful.”
Dot is micro-chipped, and so can be identified if scanned. Anyone with any relevant information can contact Elaine directly at 0207 733 2525.
