A series of workshops start up tonight on the plans for a new development at Somerleyton Rd. Divided into themes such as housing, health, unemployment and management, the workshops are open to local people with three sessions per theme. They will be run by the group Social Life, who work with communities on urban planning. The first workshop will look at the ideas that have been put forward so far and any other ideas. The second workshop will pin down priorities, and at the third, participants will decide what proposals to take forward.
The session will take place at Lambeth Volunteer Centre, 35 Brixton Station Rd. To attend, simply turn up or email hello@social-life.co. Here are the dates for the sessions:
– Housing and communal space: Tuesday 19th March, Tuesday 16th & Thursday 25th April (7pm to 8.30pm)
– Health, education and culture: Thursday 21st March, Thursday 18th & Wednesday 24rd April (7pm to 8.30pm)
– Employment, training & local businesses: Tuesday 26th March, Wednesday 9th & Tuesday 23rd April (7pm to 8.30pm)
– Long term management: Wednesday 27thth March, Thursday 11th April & Thursday 25th April (7pm to 8.30pm)
