Local grime artist and TV personality Big Narstie will be a special panel guest at “an evening about medical cannabis” in Lambeth town hall in Brixton on Wednesday 6 November.
Part of Medical Cannabis Awareness Week, the Brixton event and others in Edinburgh and Cardiff celebrate of the sixth anniversary of the 2018 law change that enabled the prescribing of cannabis medicines in the UK.
An estimated 50,000 people now use them.
The free events aim to engage with the public, patients, and the wider community, shedding light on the UK’s medical cannabis prescription system and the potential benefits of cannabis-based treatments.
They will offer the opportunity to hear from prescribing doctors, patients currently taking medical cannabis, and industry professionals.
The Brixton event is hosted by Integro Medical Clinics and Alternaleaf and will feature talks from Dr. Sunny Nayee, a pain specialist, and Dr. Anup Mathews, a psychiatrist.
Big Narstie will share his personal experience as a cannabis patient alongside other patient speakers.
The event, in the town hall’s assembly hall, runs from 6.30 to 9.30pm.
