An award winning feature-length documentary, Hostile, will be showing at The Ritzy tomorrow (25 January).
Debut director Sonita Gale explores the stories of migrants in the UK and their experiences of the dark underbelly of a broken immigration system.
Archival footage mixes with personal narratives to explore what it means to be “British”, what it means to not belong and how whole communities continue to suffer under the government’s sinister “hostile environment” policy.
Featured at the Raindance Film festival and winner of the best documentary award at the South London Film Festival, this extremely pertinent documentary reveals the crisis facing Britain today.
The film was recently longlisted for the 2022 BAFTAs in the category “outstanding debut by a British writer, director or producer”.
The show starts at 6.20pm and is followed by a Q&A session.
