Age UK Lambeth are, as usual, helping local people this winter – but they need help!
And you can have fun while you’re helping with a danceathon and a special Christmas quiz in Brixton.
The campaign for winter 2021 is Tackling Loneliness in Lambeth.
The aim is to deliver as many home-cooked Christmas meals, gift bags, hand-written Christmas cards, and crackers to hundreds of older people in Lambeth who are spending Christmas Day alone.
Anyone can sign up to be a volunteer and bring a bit of Christmas joy to someone living by themselves by delivering them a home cooked meal on Christmas day! Call 0333 360 3700 or email volunteer@ageuklambeth.org.
To fundraise and facilitate the campaign this year, Age UK Lambeth are running a selection of festive events you can get involved in. They include:
A 12-hour Danceathon takes place on Tuesday 7 December, at Brixton Brewery on Milkwood Road, between 10 am and 10 pm. There will be drinks and snacks to keep you going, a couple of Lambeth’s best DJs, and front row supporters to cheer you on.
You can choose to dance for any period of time between one and 12 hours, all you need to do to take part is fill out the form (link below) select how long you’re aiming to dance for, and your preferred start time.
Your slot will be confirmed via email. It’s free to take part, all you have to do is try to raise some money for Age UK Lambeth through sponsorship.

You could also come along to Age UK Lambeth’s Christmas Quiz at the White Horse in Brixton for an evening of fun, laughter and all things Christmas!
It’s on Sunday 28 November from 7 to 9pm.
There will be some amazing prizes up for grabs too, including an amazing bundle from Brixton Brewery, and don’t forget the wooden spoon for last place! You can buy your tickets now for £6.

Every penny raised from the Christmas Quiz will go to the Christmas Campaign 2021: Tackling Loneliness in Lambeth.
